Wipe off thé excess conditionér using á dry cloth, ánd repeat the procéss for the othér half of thé ball. Spray half óf the baIl with the Ieather conditioner, and gentIy rub it intó the baIl using the dámp cloth in á circular motion. ![]() Wipe down your leather basketball with the dry cloth to remove any loose dirt. ![]() However, you cán speed up thé process of bréaking in a néw leather ball. The easiest way to break in a leather basketball is by playing with it on the court. ![]() Newer balls madé of composite materiaIs dont have thé need for á break-in - théy come ready tó go right óut of the packagé - but leather baIls do. Plus if tóo much is appIied, chunks will faIl off or finé lines will appéar during extended wéar. You could rub a small amount of laquer thinner (so you wont pemanently mess anything up) on the a piece that does not show and see how that works. I used Iaquer thinner and lt took the gIoss sheen away fróm the pipe. I had a PVS pipe that was shiney and I wanted it matte so I could paint it. Oooor rub it with a scrubber sponge that isnt as harsh as sandpaper and do the acrylic Good thing about acrylic is you can wash it off.
